Beclomethasone
The drug Beclomethasone is intended for the prevention of the release of substances, which cause inflammation in the human’s organism. The medication helps to prevent the attacks of asthma within children older than 5 and adults. As this drug is taken only for the prevention of asthma attacks, it can’t stop the already begun attack. In this case it is necessary to take fast-acting drugs.
If you have an allergy to Beclomethasone, you are forbidden to take it. Before taking the drug you should consult your doctor to make sure that it is save for your health. If you have ever experienced the following symptoms, then you should inform your doctor about it: glaucoma, cataracts, high pressure in your eyes; any type of infection (fungal, bacterial, or viral); week immune system; osteoporosis; tuberculosis; herpes infection of the eyes.
You should inform the doctor if you are pregnant, or if you are going to become pregnant. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding a baby. The influence of Beclomethasone on an unborn child is not studied, but it can negatively affect your child through your breast milk.
The drug Beclomethasone is contraindicated to children up to the age of 5.
Method of Application
While taking the drug you should follow the instructions for a safe use and the doctor’s medical advice. Before the first drug intake you should pump two sprays into the air to test the inhaler work. If you haven’t used your inhaler for more than 10 days, you should also prime the inhaler by pumping 2 sprays into the air.
Each time after taking Beclomethasone rinse your mouth. Never let the inhaler to get wet.
If your inhaler is equipped with a dose indicator, then you can know how many doses are left. When the dose indicator shows zero, then do not use the inhaler anymore and throw it away.
While taking the drug Beclomethasone you should know that the drug action is observed in 1-2 weeks or longer.
Remember, that only your doctor can change the dosage of the drug, never change it yourself. Contact the doctor if you think that the medication does not work, or if your asthma symptoms get worse.
The drug should be stored in a dry, clean place, at room temperature, away from children. If it gets very hot, the canister can explode, so keep it away from the heat and the open fire.
If you missed a dose, so take it, when you remember about it, but if it is the time for the next dose, then skip it and take the planned dose.
Your immune system may become weak, so while taking the drug try to avoid any contacts with people, who have infections.
Side Effects
Taking Beclomethasone may give rise to the following side effects: severe tiredness, weakness, lack of energy, vomiting, nausea; infection signs, such as chills, fever, vomiting, pain in the body; problems with vision, pain in the eyes; white spots in the throat and mouth; worsening of your asthma symptoms; severe breathing problems.
General side effects: runny nose, severe headache, mouth infections, sore throat.
