Inhalation powder Breo Ellipta contains a combination of Fluticasone, a steroid, which helps to prevent the release of substances that cause inflammation in the body, and Vilanterol, a bronchodilator, which causes muscle relaxation in the airways and improves breathing.

Breo Ellipta is intended for the long-term treatment of people with COPD and the short-term treatment and control of people with asthma.

If you are allergic to Vilanterol, Fluticasone, or milk proteins, then you should not take Breo Ellipta.

The effect of Fluticasone may lead to your immune system weakening. Inform your doctor about all the infections and diseases that you had in recent weeks. Tell your doctor if you have the following diseases: liver disease, weak immune system, heart disease, liver problems, diabetes, seizures, glaucoma and cataracts, any infections, osteoporosis.

Method of Application and Dosage

Follow the instructions for use and prescriptions of the doctor when using this drug. Your dosage of the drug can only be changed by your doctor.

The drug Breo Ellipta is produced with a special inhalation device. It contains pre-loaded blister containers with measured powder doses. Every time when the device is opened, the dose of Breo Ellipta is loaded into it. Remember that this drug will not work fast enough to treat asthma or bronchospasm.

The common dosage of Breo Ellipta is 1 inhalation per day. Use your inhaler at the same time every day, and not often than once per 24 hours.

Always rinse your mouth with water after each inhalation. If your breathing problems do not improve, or if the disease symptoms worsen, consult the doctor immediately.

Store the drug Breo Ellipta in a dry, clean, cool place, away from children, at room temperature, with the cap closed. Stop using the inhaler 6 weeks after opening it, or if the dose counter is at zero.

In case you missed the dose, take it as soon as you remember about it. If it's almost time for the next scheduled dose, then skip the missed dose and take the planned one.

Overdosing may cause bad consequences. Symptoms of overdosing may include: a rapid heart rate, a feeling of trembling, pain in the chest, a lack of breathing.

Side Effects

Taking Breo Ellipta may cause the rise of the following side effects: chest pain, heart palpitations, a feeling of anxiety; severe breathing problems, dyspnea; white spots or ulcers in the mouth and throat, swallowing pain; chills, cough, fever; problems with eyesight, pain in the eyes; a strong sense of fatigue and weakness, nausea.

General side effects include: flu symptoms, severe headache, pain in the joints and back, hoarse voice, runny nose, sore throat.
